60,000 Children. One City. Three Decades of Commitment.
There are numbers that stop you in your tracks. 60,000 is one of them.
World Wide Group was privileged to attend the celebration marking the completion of eye screenings for 60,000 school children across Karachi — a milestone achieved through the dedicated efforts of the Pakistan Eye Bank Society (PEBS) in collaboration with Rotary Club Heidelberg-Schloss, Germany.
The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Thomas E. Schultze, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany — a presence that underscored something important: when healthcare initiatives transcend borders, they grow. International partnerships are not just diplomatic courtesies. In this case, they meant 60,000 children received screenings that might otherwise never have happened.
In attendance were Mr. Aamer Naseer and Mr. Sajjad Azam of World Wide Group, alongside Mr. Qazi Sajid Ali, President of the Pakistan Eye Bank Society, and Mr. Qazi Yasir Ali of PEBS.
Behind every one of those 60,000 screenings is a child who now has a better chance — at clear vision, at uninterrupted learning, at a future not limited by something as preventable as an undetected eye condition.
For World Wide Group, this moment carries particular meaning. For over three decades, WWG has proudly partnered with the Pakistan Eye Bank Society as part of its longstanding CSR commitment — supporting community eye care programmes, establishing a dialysis centre, and contributing to oral cancer treatment initiatives that have quietly, consistently changed lives across Karachi.
This is not philanthropy as performance. It is partnership as principle — the belief, held since the Group’s founding, that a business embedded in a community carries a responsibility to that community. That what is built must give back. That success, measured only in commercial terms, is success only partially achieved.
We commend the Pakistan Eye Bank Society, Rotary Club Heidelberg-Schloss, and every individual behind this initiative. In a city of millions, you saw 60,000 children who needed to be seen.
That is work worth celebrating.
